With more than 1 500 photographs, this 312-page book in colour exhibits of all the equipment the German soldier carried, starting with what he ate and drank: his cutlery, his butter tin, his penknives, mess tin, stove, can-opener, coffee, etc.
The aspects described are: food, helmets, belts, awards, maps, music, leisure, propaganda, health, tobacco, uniform, weapons. It’s a mine of discoveries, and indispensable for the collector but also for the historian who can identify, on period photos, the various objects and equipment used.
