As early as 6 June 1944, the Allies set up their first airfields in Normandy. We discover here the fifty airfields which played an essential role in the Allied victory in Normandy, the maps, period photos and shots taken nowadays for comparison. The squadrons that were assigned there are also mentioned with more than a hun- dred colour profiles of planes but also the way the runways were built and may other interes- ting details.
