404th FIGHTER GROUP

This group was formed on 25 January 1943, arrived on English soil in March-April 1944 and landed on Norman soil having operated in the Normandy skies from England. It was based on A-5, at Cartigny-l’Epinay (Calvados).
This book gives an account of this group’s feats of arms, using its logbook and its veterans’ testimonies. As you turn the pages, you discover another Battle of Normandy, the one seen from the skies, and the birth of the tactical aircraft dedicated to ground support.
