As an NCO, “Sepp”Dietrich commanded one of the first combat tanks in History during the First World War. A member of Hitler’s bodyguard, he took command of the first 117 volunteers on 17 March 1933. This was the kernel of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler which became a regiment, then a brigade and finally a division.
This book follows the itinerary of this leader who knew how to create a very strong link with his men and ended up commanding an army corps at the end of the war. This is mainly a book showing more than 500 photographs, most of which are unpublished, with veterans’ anec- dotes and biographies of the
Leibstandarte’s main leaders and numerous documents signed by Sepp Dietrich.
